I hate to hear that you had to let it go, but you have to do whats needed to survive.therell be abother one some day, for now, just keep the knowledge on them coming.
For lack of a better place to announce it, the lousy economy forced me to sell my Blazer Chalet. Would rather have kept it, but safer to have the reserve cash available for expensive emergencies. I'll keep on looking for these and researching their sketchy history, no worries on that. The new owner is a lot more passionate about fixing up such trucks, along with other classic GMs. I'll have to ask if he knows about extended cabs.
Anyway, if anyone happens to see this rolling toward Indiana in the next day or so, it used to be mine.
Welcome to the forum. Congratulations on getting such a beautiful truck and in such great shape. I hope you stick around and provide additional information.
I finally got no 4 home and am real excited about this project. I have only found 4, 3/4 ton 4wds and this is the only ex cab I have ever seen that had a 4 speed. The frame was stretched for the full size bed and came with a 90 suburban front clip. I am kind of at a loss as to what route to go with this one. I want it black and it will have a bigblock, but other than that, I am undecided. Im torn between a dually, leaving it lifted and running 38s or dropping it down a bit and go for more of a stock look. Which is why I am here. what do you guys think? I welcome your opinions. In its prime it was running 44s and looked killer, but that was with the shortened bed. It looks retarded now with the small tires on it, but for the price, I didnt care. I traded a truck that I had that was given to me, so I guess you could say it was free. The first pic is with the sleeper that the previous owner wanted to keep, so I greatly obliged him in the removel of it.I will get better pics when weather permits.
Welcome, and thanks for joining. That is a very nice truck. The hotrod emblem was not a CVI emblem that I know of, most likely just from a previous owner. Glad to have you on board, you have made my day.
I just recently purchased an extended cab 1/2 ton Chevy down in Wichita, KS, last weekend. The truck was a conversion done by Custom Vehicles International, number 202. What honestly drew me to the truck was how great of condition it was in. The extended cab was a bonus. The truck has 88,000 miles and is completely unmolested save for the installation of a GM Performance 350 HO engine 6000 miles ago. The engine needs a little tuning that the previous owner neglected to do, but overall the truck is just beyond my expectations. It's been the only vehicle so far that I knew I wanted to have, 100%.
Was the Hot Rod badge something all of these CVI trucks had? All I know is it's getting yanked. Never been a big fan of flash.
Anyway, if any of you have any questions, feel free to ask! I'll do what I can to be an asset to this community and help out any way I can.
