Survival of the fittest

« on: June 21, 2012, 09:02:45 AM »

Hello,
It's been a while since I posted.  Just wanted to share my new purchase.  I just got a hold of a 73 chevy c10 that is marked or labeled Big 10. No big plans for it other than work on engine and drive like a second vehicle when needed.  Current tags and inspection on it about 2 months ago, so it can't be that bad.  Going to stay with the original color for now.  Truck just caught my eye when I say it.  Body is a bit rough,  has the typical corner cab rust, and some rust around top fenders.  Something looks like it fell on the top of the driver side corner cab because it is dented in pretty bad, gonna take some good body work for that.  (No I am Glad I was raised in a body shop. LOL)

Trying to load some pics of it.  See if it works.

One interesting thing is that it is a 73, and has the Big 10 decal on it.  If anyone can correct me, I thought they did not start the Big 10 until 1975?  I will have to find the code (F44, i think) and verify the GVW.  6,050 or 6,200.  The paint looks orignal, and the decals look original also, but I have been wrong before.  We shall see.

More pics
Going to kick it old school with some eagle alloy 15x10 wheels I got a hold of.  I polished these babies to a mirror shine.  I put new rubber and new factory original eagle alloy center cap emblem that i picked up online.  We shall see how it looks when I get done.
